We are mountain people. At Two Rock Outdoor, we offer immersive experiences in Ireland's stunning mountain landscapes. Our mission is to explore these unique regions while prioritising safety, conservation and preservation.
Our offerings include certified and introductory mountain skills courses, guided hikes and hiking trips, designed to inspire confidence and create meaningful experiences in the wild.
You will be in the company of qualified leaders with international qualifications.
We strive to foster confidence and connection in the hills, we cultivate supportive, community-driven atmosphere where participants can push their limits at their own pace. Into the Irish mountain landscapes
In Ireland we have unique landscapes, with their own delicate ecosystems and habitats. Mountains are by definition, raised land-forms where every metre of ascent brings you to new vegetation, habitats and climes.

Summer: generally, during the summer months ferries book up, car parks become caotic. Rather than contribute we prefer to take expedition work to quiter regions. If you have an idea that doesn't involve the honeypot areas, get in contact.

Corporate Packages - for our corporate packages get in contact, we have packages that include hikes and sustainability programmes exploring native landscapes with coffee and snacks available
Wild Camps and Challenge hikes - are you training for a big international trip. We have experience trekking around the world, worked in outdoor stores and lived the outdoor lifestyle. For availability of challenge hikes, training for trekking holidays, qualified physio consultation (referral), wild camping, charity challenges or group transport, get in contact!

Our approach is grounded in a deep respect for nature. We take every precaution to minimise our impact on the areas we visit, carefully considering factors such as footfall, transport, waste, biodiversity and the well-being of local communities. We are committed to responsible stewardship, averse to greenwashing and ensure that our activities align with best sustainable practices and with Mountaineering Ireland's guidelines.
Kathryn
In recent years, she has focused on leading groups freelance in the scenic mountains of Ireland and the UK.
As an accomplished mountaineer, Kathryn has lived and climbed in the French and Swiss Alps.
Nowadays, her passion lies in exploring the breathtaking landscapes closer to home, from Ireland's rugged hills to the UK's picturesque peaks.
Kathryn is fully qualified as an International Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor.
Darran
Darran brings a diverse and adventurous background to Two Rock Outdoors. His varied career has included roles as a raft guide, surf instructor expedition leader and even a beekeeper. With years of experience, Darran has spent much of his adult life leading groups in Ireland and around the globe.
A graduate in Outdoor Education with Geography, and holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate, Sustainability, and Environment, and hailing from a tourism family, Darran's routes are firmly in adventure, environment and tourism.
Darran has led groups for outdoor centers and spent much of his adult life exploring the mountai in Ireland and around the globe. While several winter seasons in the French Alps further fed his passion for the outdoors.
A qualified International Mountain Leader and Wilderness First Responder, Darran ensures safety and excellence in every adventure.
At Two Rock Outdoors, Darran oversees transport and logistics, drawing from his early days driving buses in the Irish outdoor education scene then to navigating challenging snowy alpine routes for several years. Beyond logistics, he shares his deep passion for the wildlife, history, and folklore of the land finding them intertwined, offering participants a rich connection to the natural environment.

cultural environment of the outdoors, particularly in hill and mountain regions, including education of environmental knowledge and the teaching of technical skills, while maintaining the safety of their group within it."
